Margaret
Brouillard
February 13, 1937 – February 9, 2025
Margaret Brouillard, age 87, of Appleton, died Sunday, February 9, 2025. Marge was born in Milwaukee on February 13, 1937, to the late Ted and Maggie (Talbot) Fischer. Marge was a devoted, loving, and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Marge was also a wonderful friend. She had many lifelong friends, including: Janet Wisneski, Joyce Lake, Ken and Clarice Hoffman, Marilyn Heimmermann, the family of St. Mary's Parish of Appleton, and all those close to the Brouillard family throughout the years, along with her extended family including her many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She met her husband Bob when she moved in across the street from him when he was in fourth grade. They went through grade school and high school together. Bob had his eye on her from the very beginning. 13 years later, in 1960, they were married, and they had two wonderful daughters, Molly and Jody. Over the years Marge has given her time, talents and gifts in many ways. She was involved in the home school committee of St. Mary's School. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader for many years. She also taught religious education classes to lower elementary students. Marge also joyfully volunteered by taking Holy Communion to the homebound members of our community. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Reggie and Regan. Upon Bob's retirement, she enjoyed time in Shawano relaxing by reading books and going out for Friday fish. Marge had many jobs over the years. After high school she worked at Wisconsin Bell and had many other jobs until she became a stay-at-home mom. When Molly and Jody started elementary school, she returned to the workforce and took a part time job at Krieck Furs in Appleton. Later, she worked for J.J. Keller in Neenah. She then returned to work and retired from AT&T. With each new job experience she always found the opportunity to make new friends.
Bob and his family would like to thank their close friends for the love, care, and support you have provided them with. They appreciate and would like to thank all those who cared for Marge during the most difficult times, especially the workers at House of Grace at Prairie Homes, Compassus Hospice Care, and all those who knew their family best.
Marge is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bob; her children: Molly (Tom) Brown, of Lancaster, South Carolina; and Jody (Jason) Fowler, of Appleton; her grandchildren: Regan (Daniel) Zant and Reggie (Sabrina Honts) Fowler; her siblings: Mary Zimmerman, Jerry Fischer, and Josie Markwardt; and her brother-in-law, Tom Brouillard; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Marge is preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Joe and Helen Brouillard; her siblings: Jim Fischer and Patricia Konkol; and her siblings-in-law: Jack (Joan) Brouillard, Nancy (Ray) West, and Bill Brouillard.
