Majilla (Dots) Ambrosuis, Appleton, age 98, died on Saturday, June 30th, 2012. Dots was born April 29, 1914 to John and Josephine (Zwick) Van De Hey.
An inspiring lady of independence, pushing the limits, always creating a drama… an individual of so many questions, always searching for the answers, going places where others never dare. Snappy, short and impatient (not just her physical attributes…), intrigued by technology and human motivation, always ready to join the adventure, a true realist! Dots taught us how to cut to the chase, make sense of it, and above all, move on. A woman well ahead of her years… The years finally caught up with her.
Dots is proceeded in death by her beloved husband "Nibs" and former husband Ray Jonen as well as Daughter Jan LaRue, Brothers Elmer, Roche & Bob and Sister, Kathy Beck(Thiel).
Dot is survived by her daughter Phyllis & Son-in-law, Tom Janssen, Son-in-law, Rodney LaRue, Grandson, Scott (Jamie) LaRue, Granddaughter Jill LaRue (John Noble), Great Grandsons, Steven, Brent (Sara), and Fox LaRue. Brothers: Lloyd (Pat) Van De Hey, Connie (Dorothy) Van De Hey, Sisters: Marie (Dick) Reetz, Theresa Eiting, Brother-in-law Russ Beck, Sister-in-laws Blanch Meier and Millie Jonen.
Most important, a mother of two daughters; Jan and Phyllis. Two remarkable individuals, influenced by just how important it is to care for others in need. Dots instilled in them the most important quality of: "Service before self—touching the lives of others." A volunteer extraordinaire; a lifelong member of the Elks, employee of Sears, Service Bakery delivery driver, farmer and even a do-it-yourself mechanic. We won't bring up what she did during prohibition.
Visitation will be held Thursday July 5, 2012 at the ST. PAUL HOME CHAPEL (316 E. 14th St. Kaukauna) beginning at 1:30 p.m. until time of Mass at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Willard Vande Loo will officiate. Committal Highland Memorial. To sign the guest book visit oconnellfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name for: "Saint Paul's Home" Kaukauna WI. Thank you.
Dots, you should be proud of yourself—you did well. Your inspiration is never ending and lives on in all of us. You will be sorely missed. Mom, Sister, and Grandma, we love you. We look forward to the day we can catch up on things.…
