Lou Haller, age 85, Appleton, died on October 23, 2015 at Theda Clark Hospital, following an 8 month illness of Lewy Body Dementia. He was born on January 6, 1930 in Chicago. He graduated from Hyde Park High School in Chicago. He was a member of the Signal Corp US Army from 1950 – 1952, serving in Germany and Verdun, France.
He owned and operated Carpet Installation Services in Indiana, and later in Appleton. He later earned an Associate Degree in Natural Resources from the Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton and worked at the Peninsula State Park in Door County. His passion was wood working and retirement found him building mission style furniture. Lou's part Irish heritage brought laughter and an open positive attitude to others for which he will be remembered.
He left behind his loving wife of 31 years; two daughters, Holly Culp of Bethesda, MD and Heather Haller of San Mateo, CA; two grandsons, Michael and Alex; great grandson, Eli; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
