Obituary

On Friday, December 15, 2023, LouAnn Vander Wielen went home to be with her Savior and her eternal glory. She was born on April 25, 1931, to Ralph and Caroline (Grimmer) Bohne in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. She attended St. Mark's grade school and graduated from Washington High School. LouAnn married Thomas Vander Wielen in 2009.

LouAnn is survived by her husband, Thomas G. Vander Wielen; daughter, Carolyn (Rick) Ellis; granddaughters Christine, Angela, Chelsey, and Sarah (Sean); brother, William (Diane) Bohne; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her stepchildren: Thomas A. Vander Wielen, Brenda (Bruce) Sonderegger, Roxann O'Neill, Sheila Schink, Tracey Vander Wielen, Tony Vander Wielen, Mary Wiberg, Tim Conway (Rita), John Conway (Beth), Kathi Conway, Christopher Conway (Sandy), and Bridget Conway, she deeply loved her children, grandchildren, stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Orvis and Dan Conway; brother, James Bohne; sister, Barbara Christopher; sister-in-law, Geraldine Bohne; son, Mark Orvis; and stepson, Patrick Conway.

LouAnn worked as an executive secretary most of her life, and retired from Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

Many people touched her life, including her card-playing friends, fellow campers at Roberts Lake, and lifelong friends in her many travels. She loved the outdoors, golfing, and fishing with her husband and family. She also enjoyed volunteering at Appleton Medical Center.

For years, LouAnn sang with the Neenah-Menasha Why Nots until health problems prohibited her from continuing. Music was always an important element in her life. She took dance lessons at 3 years old, and toured the state at 5 years old, performing in many towns. She took piano lessons and played many years for her own enjoyment. LouAnn was also a member of Heart of the Valley YMCA.

Visitation for LouAnn will take place on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY CHURCH (620 E. Kimberly Avenue), beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 12 Noon, with Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Committal, Highland Memorial Park.

We would like to offer a special thank you, to all the help this past month, from the Kimberly ER team, the Compassus staff & social worker, and the Home Care assistance Nurses.

In lieu of flowers, LouAnn's family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson's or Huntington's Society.
