Obituary

Loretta M. Acker, Freedom, age 80, died Monday, August 5, 2024 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton.  She was born in Milwaukee on October 14, 1943 to the late Edwin and Angeline (Sinski) Dombeck.  Loretta married Robert Acker on March 31, 1962 in Milwaukee.  Her favorite hobbies were crafting and sewing.  Together, Loretta and Robert loved to travel.  Their favorite trips were to visit family and friends across the U.S. and Canada, Maui, Kauai and their visits to Mexico while they wintered in Texas for many years.  Loretta was a proud mom, grandma and great grandma and loved to talk about her family with everyone she met.

Loretta is survived by her children:  Thomas Acker of Kaukauna; Scott (Patti) Acker, of Escanaba, MI; Joey (Teresa) Acker, of Bentonville, AR; and Carmen (J.D.) Brown, of Kaukauna; grandchildren:  Jenni (Dan) Dubord, Jade Acker, Jami (Andy) Boursaw, Tiffany (Evan) Owens, Brittany (John) Donald, Joshua (Bailey) Acker, Adam (Hannah) Brown, and Andrew (Monica) Brown; great grandchildren:  Hallee, Harlee, Finlee, Mya, Ella, Isla, Quincy, Zionnah, Zabel, Zaylor, Eliana, Oliver, Rayne, Renley, Jovie, Christopher, and Riley; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law:  Kaye Meyer, James (Cindy) Acker, Wendy (fiancé Larry Campbell) Hunt, and Barbara Acker.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert; his parents, Clarence and Irene Acker; great grandchildren:  Zyla and Pearl; sisters:  Deborah Dombeck and Beverly (Ernie) Stoltz; and brother-in-law, Bill Acker.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 19, 2024 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Steven Vande Hey officiating.

Loretta's family would like to thank the staff at Brewster Village for taking such good care of her and creating a home that she loved.  Also, thank you to the staff on the 8th floor at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the wonderful care given to both Loretta and her family.
