Lorena M.
Hintz
March 12, 1939 – September 26, 2025
Lorena Marlene Hintz, Menasha, age 86, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2025. She was born March 12, 1939 in Leopolis, was married to Roy Hintz for 31 years, resided in Appleton and worked part-time cleaning at the Appleton Airport and other buildings while raising a family. Lorena later moved to Menasha and worked for many years at Shopko. She met her significant other, Frederick Kopitske, who was the love of her life for 17 years. They loved to go out dancing and were avid ballroom dancers. Lorena also enjoyed listening to Elvis songs along with watching the polka channel every Sunday morning. Lorena had two passions that she made a point of talking to anyone who would listen to her about: which natural supplements and vitamins could help heal whatever ailment was going on with your body, and most importantly how much God loves each one of us.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Martin and Laura Pingel; significant other, Frederick Kopitzke; son-in-law, Jeffrey Knuijt; granddaughter, Julie Knuijt; grandsons: Nathan Sylvander and Bruce Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Randolph and Carol Pingel; sister-in-law, Karen Pingel; and ex-husband Roy Hintz.
Lorena is survived by her six children: Valerie Hintz, Denise (Roger) Konrad, Dennis (Sue) Hintz, Michael (Bonnie) Hintz, Daniel (Theresa) Hintz, and Rachelle Smith (special friend Tim); 9 grandchildren: Carrie, Jason, Amy, Jonathon, Stephen, Benjamin, Kayla and Brandon; and 6 great grandchildren: Jacob, Isaiah, Emily, Abby, Liliana, and Dean.
There will be a private family burial at Riverside Cemetery on Friday, October 10, 2025.
