Obituary

Leslie George Seggelink, Kaukauna, age 72, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, on
Friday, February 7, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with ALS. He was born in Appleton on April 25, 1952, to the late Lester and Arbella (Young) Seggelink. Les married Darlene Evers on September 20, 1974, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, with whom he grew a beautiful life and family over the next 50 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Les and Darlene have spent the last 7 summers together as campground hosts where they enjoyed meeting new people from around the state and country. This contrasted to winters, where they were snowbirds in Mesa, Arizona and met countless new friends and made many new memories.  His other favorite hobbies included smoking game meats and cooking for family and friends. Les was a 'mister-fix-it' and a family man who was never too proud to brag about his family, nor of his dogs. After 45 years of service, he retired as the manager of the produce department at Larry's Piggly Wiggly where he loved catching up with customers.

Les is survived by his wife of 50 years, Darlene; children: Eric (Kelly) of Muskego, Jessica Seggelink of Madison, and Alicia (Mike) Pereslucha of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Isabella and Isaiah Seggelink; Ethan, Everett, and Emery Hietpas; sisters Patricia Sinn, Nancy Paters; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Judy Kraus, Patricia Seggelink, David (Alice) Evers, Gary (Deb) Evers, Carol (Gerry) Vande Hey, Linda (Roy) Baumruk, Marty (Sue) Evers, and Crystal DeWildt. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Les was preceded in death by his son, Joshua; grandson, Nathan; father and mother-in-law:  Richard and Dorothy Evers; siblings: Francis (Gordon) Wochinski, Joyce Kelley, Anthony Kraus, Milton (Dori) Kraus, Carol Seggelink, Tom Seggelink, and Sandy Kavanaugh; and in-laws: Bruce Evers and infants, Gary, Carol, and Joseph.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at ST.
