Leonard "Len" H. Moes, 80, Little Chute, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, October 4, 2014. He was born on April 1, 1934 to the late Edward and Viola (Zuleger) Moes. On August 13, 1955, Len married Ruth Harvey in Green Bay, WI.
Len was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, camp and hunt. One thing he enjoyed most was riding his John Deere Gator out to his favorite hunting spot. Len spent most of his years first as a semi-driver then as an assessor running Moes Appraisal and later in life became a building inspector for the Town of Menasha.
Len is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruthie; three sons and one daughter-in-law James, David (Alice) and Mark Moes; two grandchildren, Brian and Kevin Moes; sisters-in-law, Helen Moes, Yvonne (Pete) Garro and Louanne (Earl) Louze; and brother-in-law, Robert Harvey Jr. He is also survived by special friends, Lori, Steve and Amy Jencks, Harry Olszewski and Marilyn Frank.
In addition to his parents, Len is preceded in death by 7 brothers, Edward, Ray, Dick, Harold, Bob, Bill and John Moes; one sister, Adelaide (Moes) Jurenka; brother-in-law, Bill Jurenka; and father-in-law, Robert Harvey.
Visitation will be held Friday October 10, 2014 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral at 3:30 p.m., with dinner to follow. The Rev. Roger Mc Quistion will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Friends of Little Chute, Kimberly Library (FOLKS) or your favorite charity.
