Obituary

Lawrence J. Heesakker, Kimberly, age 94, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 11 th , 2014 at Brewster Village. Lawrence was born on September 8 th , 1919, in Little Chute, son of the late George and Annie (Van Schindel) Heesakker. Lawrence married Beatrice Stilp on October 1 st , 1949, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha. She preceded him in death on January 18 th , 2005.

Lawrence retired from Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Neenah on February 28 th , 1984, after 43 years of service. He was a proud WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army, 3 rd Armored "Spearhead" Division in the European Theatre of Operation throughout the campaign. He was a 69-year member and Past Commander of Jacob Coppus Post 258, Little Chute.

Lawrence considered every day as a gift from God and spent his lifetime sharing that gift with others. He was especially dedicated to his wife and family.   Lawrence leaves behind a legacy rich in family values and faith.

Lawrence is survived by his daughter, Anne Weiland, Kimberly, and his son, Stephen (Ann Nack), Shawano, five grandchildren, Brian Weiland, Jaime (Michael) Reider, Nicole (Cory) Schultz, Tammy Heesakker (Greg Russo), Jodi Heesakker (Kevin Jahnke), and four great-grandchildren, Michael Reider, Jr., Isabelle Reider, Amelia Schultz and Amelia's sister soon to be born.

Further survivors are two very dear sisters, Agnes Heesakker, Kimberly, and Margaret Schwaller, Appleton.

He is further survived by in-laws, James (Celine) Stilp, Winchester, WI, Gerald (Kathie) Stilp, Elm Grove, WI, Margaret Stilp, Orlando, FL, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death, besides his parents and spouse, were five sisters and one brother, Sr. M. Callista (baptized Martha) Heesakker, Loretta Harp, Josephine Mueller, Dorothy Mae Heesakker, Mary Van Offeren and Francis (Stack) Heesakker; in-laws, Eugene Harp, Bill Van Offeren, Joseph Mueller, Robert Schwaller, Shirley Heesakker, Ivan and Gladys Stilp, Ivan Stilp, Jr. and Emmett and Georgianne Hoks.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 17 th , 2014, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 Pine Street, Little Chute, the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen presiding and Rev. James Hablewitz concelebrating. Inurnment will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. Friends may call directly at church on Monday from 2:30 PM until the time of Mass at 5:00 PM. Military honors will be conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 following the service. A memorial fund will be established in Lawrence's name.

With heartfelt gratitude, the Heesakker family wishes to thank Dr. Deborah Schultz, the entire staff of Brewster Village, and especially Heritage Square 1, The Mills, and all those who touched Lawrence's life with care and compassion. A very special thank you also to his frequent visitors: Jim Long, Bruce Weiland, Jim Stilp, Frank Madill and Ed Gerhartz. You enriched his life with each visit.
