Laurie Jeanne Niles passed away peacefully with her brother and cousin at her side on April 25 th , 2020.
Laurie was born August 20 th , 1967 in Stevens Point, WI, to Roger and Lois Niles. The family moved to Appleton, WI when Laurie was two years old.
Laurie received her bachelor's in nursing from UW-Madison and a master's degree in Nursing Informatics from Walden University. She worked as a Registered Nurse at UC San Diego, Bellin Hospital in Green Bay and most recently for ThedaCare in various roles and locations.
Laurie was a member of St. Bernadette Church and participated in their Renewed Spirits Choir. Laurie enjoyed travelling and took trips to the British Isles, Alaska, and the Panama Canal. She enjoyed games in any form from cards, to board games to video games. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Laurie also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and playing the piano.
Laurie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael. She is survived by her beloved cat Edgar; brother Peter Niles (Kelley) and their sons Ben and Jordan; and her late brother's sons Alexander (Ashley Perket) and Nicholas (Selena) Niles; an uncle and aunts (Jack and Barbara Niles, Joann Baird; and numerous cousins and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Bernadette Church after the Safer at Home order has been lifted.
Laurie's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Theda Clark ICU for their compassion and care of Laurie.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
