January 15, 1958 – April 15, 2022
Kathy Rose DeShaney of Appleton soared into heaven on the wings of angels on Good Friday, April 15, 2022. She was a graduate of Plamann School and employed by Valley Packaging. Kathy loved her big family and is survived by her family Robert (Sheri) DeShaney: Ginger, Guy, Tammy, Candi; Jeanne (Alan) Lamers: Ron, Robin, Joie, Jackie, Kenny, Annie ; Mary (Robert) Schreiber: Tammy, Tina, Todd, Traci; Gerald (Pam) DeShaney: Dana, Stephanie, Peter; Tom Hopfensperger: Toni, Tom, Stephen; Pat (John) Meixl: Rick, Randy; Jack (Mary) DeShaney: Mandy, Kristy; Judy Schoepel: Ron, Becky, Kellie, Craig ; Wendy (Gary) Lodholz: Erica, Greg ; Kim (Rick) Surman: Stacy, Jeff; Sue Bruehl: Cody, Abby ; and Kerry (Bruce) Goffard: Jessie, Niki, Matt.
Kathy was blessed with a life of love and health. She gained her next family through guardianship with Ken and Jeanne Levknecht for 18 years. She is survived by Ronald (Nancy) Levknecht: Ashley, Matt, Alex; Robin (Mike) Ballard: Nicole, Randi; Joie (Douglas) Pirkey: Zeb, Sophie, Elias ; Jackie (Mike) Vigier: Katie ; Kenny (Christy) Levknecht: Chase, Jackson, Raena, Emilia ; and her final guardian Annie Levknecht: Isaiah .
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Rita (Wittman) DeShaney; sister, Sharon Hopfensperger; brother, Clarence "Mike" DeShaney; brothers-in-law: Ron Schoepel and Kenneth Levknecht; and niece, Terri Schreiber.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a sharing of stories and memories at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (411 Vandenbroek Street, Little Chute) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Belitz officiating. Kathy will be buried at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials in Kathy's name may be made to the Special Olympics.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Theda Care Hospice team, Senior Helpers Respite, Christian Servants Respite, and all of her sisters.
