Karen B. Rupple, Appleton, age 62, died Sunday, December 25, 2016 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. She was born in Appleton on January 14, 1954, the daughter of Roy and Marie (Baumann) Bogenschutz. Karen married Keith Rupple on June 7, 1975 at St. Joseph Parish in Appleton. She was a Registered Nurse and worked on the obstetrics floor at Appleton Medical Center for 20 years and with ThedaCare On Call for 10 years until her illness caused her retirement in 2005.
Karen's faith was foremost in her life. She was a member of Appleton Alliance Church and sang with the choir for 30 years. Karen also led a bible study at her home for the last 15 years.
Karen loved being a grandma and treasured having sleepovers with her grandchildren. She was an excellent baker and her children and grandchildren spent many days in the kitchen with her, as she passed these skills on to them.
Karen is survived by her husband of 41 years, Keith; children: Paul and Angie (Mark) Pappas, both of Appleton; grandchildren: Aubrey, Jozie, Phoebe, Hannah, Sarah and Matthew; mother, Marie Bushman; brothers: Chris (Julieann), Bob (Gail), David, Mark (Amy) and Tom (Debbie) Bushman; sisters: Jill (Donnie) Miller, Susan Bluma and Mary (Jon) St. Louis; and brothers and sisters-in-law: David (Connie) Rupple, Judy (Lee) Vanevenhoven and Kathy (Stan) Bastian. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Roy Bogenschutz; step father, Eugene Bushman; sister, Judy (Ron) White; and father and mother-in-law, Budwin and Corrine Rupple.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 2, 2017 at APPLETON ALLIANCE CHURCH (2693 W. Grand Chute Blvd. Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Dennis Episcopo will officiate. Committal St. Joseph Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Missions Fund at Appleton Alliance Church.
