Karen Marie Janssen, age 61, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2012 at Cherry Meadows Hospice with her family at her side. She was born August 5, 1950 in Appleton to James and Julia (Coenen) Schuh and was united in marriage to Charles Janssen of Little Chute on June 2, 1972. Karen graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1968 and attended the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, where she met Charles. She enjoyed ceramic painting, flower arranging, jewelry design, cross-stitch, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and travel.
Karen is survived by her husband Charles of Appleton; son Brian of Madison; daughter Amanda Borleske, husband John, and very special grandchildren Sorina and Malaina, of Verona; parents James and Julia Schuh of Little Chute; brothers: Gary, Kaukauna; Jim (Yvonne), Kaukauna; Bill (Mary Jo), Kaukauna; Mike (Cheryl), Appleton; and Jeff (Lynn), Appleton; brother-in-law Tom (Phyllis) Janssen, Kaukauna; sisters-in-law: Jan (Ron) Rabideau and Patricia (Patrick) Farrell, both of Kaukauna; and wonderful friends Penny, Jenny and Nancy; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and their spouses.
Karen was preceded in death by her sister Susan Schuh; her beloved godmother Sharon Belling; her grandparents; and other uncles, aunts and cousins.
Karen's celebration of life will be held Tuesday May 15, 2012 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery.
