Karen P. Burmeister "Karie Philomena", Kaukauna, age 69, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, WI. She was born in Manitowoc, WI on March 8, 1949 to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Fisher) Deehr. Karen married Lyle D. Burmeister in Two Rivers, WI on November 23, 1974.
While Karen had various jobs throughout her life involving insurance and bookkeeping, her passion was writing through which, her memory will be transcended. An elegant professional, she always curled her hair for work in the morning and wore beautiful, feminine blouses and suits, often with a stylish hat to match. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and also enjoyed watching Wisconsin Badger football games. Her hobbies included doing puzzles and crocheting blankets, usually while watching a good mystery. Karen left the Christmas decorations (especially the lights) up as long as possible just to keep the bright spirit of the Holiday ever-present. She found peace gardening or observing the birds and squirrels through her patio doors while listening to her assortment of wind chimes. Family meant everything to her, whether baking cookies with her daughters, watching her son's sporting events, playing sheepshead gathered at the table, laughing around a fire pit, chatting with her siblings, dancing with Lyle to "Unchained Melody" or enjoying a Summer day on the water in Waupaca or Winneconne; seeing her children and husband happy made her radiate. The countless Blessings she bestowed upon those who knew Karen will flourish eternally.
