Julie (Rausch)
Kolosso
February 13, 1969 – December 16, 2022
Julie Ann (Rausch) Kolosso, 53, passed away early Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton after a long and difficult struggle with addiction, and then a serious form of cancer. Julie was born February 13, 1969 to Bev and Dave Rausch at St. Elizabeth. She spent most of her life here in the Fox Valley, but also lived in various places in WA, FL, GA and AZ. She loved adventure.
Julie is survived by her 3 children: Haley, Kaden and Emma; grandchild, Emmett; mother and stepfather, Bev and Dan Rupiper; sister, Mary Pat, brothers: Dan (Vanessa) and Mike (Sheri); and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is also survived by her ex-husband, whom she has remained friends with ever since, Patrick Kolosso. She loved her family dearly.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Dave Rausch; and special friend, Jay Douglas. They were long term friends, and after a long while they shared a very rare love. After Jay lost his beautiful soulmate, he met my mom, and they were happy together until the last week of their lives.
Julie was full of spice and drive, and she lived her life according to her own rules. Julie was an amazing artist, having spent hours teaching herself to draw. She was even skilled at drawing with her non-dominant right hand. Anywhere Julie went, you were sure to find drawings, doodles, sketches, and most recently handmade necklaces and tie dyed clothing that she gifted to her kids and grandkids. She had a knack for the creative and had more talent in her pinkie finger than most people could ever dream to have.
Julie loved music, especially classic rock. Her special song with her daughter Haley was "Sweet Child of Mine."
The family would like to thank the truly amazing staff at St. Elizabeth's, who made sure Julie was comfortable and at peace during her final moments, as well as making sure we were okay too. True Angels.
Finally, we would all like to thank the many friends and colleagues who have offered kind words, prayers and condolences!
In accordance with Julie's wishes, a private family gathering was held.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
