Judith Ann
St. Aubin
July 15, 1947 – December 6, 2022
For God so loved the world that he gave us Judith Ann "Judy" (Wietor) St. Aubin, for she was truly a gift to those who knew and loved her. Judy passed on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, with her husband by her side. She was born to the late Leo and Norma (Hawig) Wietor on July 15, 1947, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Judy was raised in Campbellsport before moving to West Bend for high school. She was involved in many activities in her youth, some of which include Brownies, cheerleading, choir, and singing with "The History Minstrels" group for hootenannies. However, the most affectionately told stories of her childhood included playing neighborhood games, making go-carts, sledding, and ice skating. Her childhood was something out of a Norman Rockwell painting. She was happiest being with family and friends, her smile and hugs bringing joy to all those around her.
Mom was a true caregiver and began college at UW-Oshkosh in the nursing program. At the beginning of her freshman year, she met the love of her life, Timothy Alan St. Aubin, who was singing and playing guitar at a college sponsored social. She loved music, so of course she was drawn to him. He was smitten with her as well, and they wed at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend, on July 13, 1968. After the devastating loss of her first pregnancy, they welcomed their son, Seth John, on January 3, 1970, and later their daughter, Andrea Mae, on October 8, 1973.
Throughout Mom's life, her career spanned through many different areas, from school cook to being a planner at a paper mill, with many more in between. While she wished she would have finished nursing school, Mom gave each role she took on extreme dedication. Despite her many roles in life, Judy's greatest job was "Mom"; we didn't think for one minute that she didn't love us with her whole heart. She was the neighborhood mom who taught us all the games that brought her so much joy in her own childhood. She loved baking, cooking, and canning, and enjoyed sharing it with family and friends. Her pies were the best. Yes, she loved her sweets! When you met her, she would hug you or put an arm around your shoulder. She was a close talker who oozed affection. You couldn't get away without a hug and a kiss on the cheek. She loved being a grandma and spent countless hours with her grandchildren, whether it was caregiving or watching and cheering them on, at all their activities. She loved games and playing cards; while she was competitive, she loved the quality time that it provided.
Judy was the oldest of four children and was truly the big sister who made it a priority to spend time with family. Her love of sweets and cooking was the direct result of her loving mother, and her love of music and bowling, from her amazing father. Their passing was extremely hard for Judy. She often told her family that she had the best parents and how thankful she was for the amazing way that they raised their children.
Judy developed dementia in the last few years, but it was limited to short term memory. She could vividly recall anything from her past, but it did grow increasingly difficult for her to accept her condition.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Tim; her son, Seth (Kelly Jo) St. Aubin, and her daughter Andrea (Bill) Schaller; and her grandchildren: Meradith and Natalie Schaller; Isaiah, Leo, and Eleonore St. Aubin; and Roen Strauch. She is further survived by her siblings: Steve (Clarise) Wietor, Bob (Joy) Wietor, and Nancy (Mark) Scheffler; and her brothers-in-law: Don, Vern (Wendy), George, and Harry St. Aubin; along with many nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Norma Wietor; her parents-in-law, Robert and Virginia St. Aubin; and her brother-in-law, Bill St. Aubin.
Visitation will be held December 15, 2022 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) beginning at 5:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Steve Vande Hey officiating.
We pray that God has placed you back into the loving arms of your parents. No more forgetfulness, no more pain. Shine your love and faith upon us that you left behind. Until we meet again.
