Judith "Judy" Hopp, a resident of Evergreen Retirement Community Oshkosh, formerly of Neshkoro, was called home by the Lord early Monday, March 16 th . Judy was born September 21, 1944 to Guy and Nina (Henke) Cook of Neshkoro. She attended school at Neshkoro Grade School and was a of graduate of Westfield High School. Judy was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church in Neshkoro.
A homemaker most of her life, Judy was very active in her children's activities, including serving as a Camp Fire Girls Troop Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, PTA President, and Volunteer for numerous school and civic functions. An avid and dedicated card player, Judy enjoyed sitting for hours (sometimes through the night) playing Sheepshead, Canasta, Poker and Rummy Royal. In her final hours, a smile was brought to Judy's face when it was mentioned that "Jute was waiting for her to play Canasta!"
Judy absolutely adored and cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Angela (Mark) Soda, Tim (Sherry) Hopp, Brad Hopp; Grandchildren, Cassie (Zach) Walczak, Dustin Soda, Tim (Holly) Hopp, Jr., James Hopp, Cheyenne Hopp, Gracie Hopp, Justin (Amanda) Ellingson and Johnny Ellingson; Great-grandchildren, Jemma Walczak, Daxton Walczak and Lucy Hopp. Judy is further survived by one brother, Guy Cook, Jr., brothers-in law, sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her former husband and good friend, Donald Hopp, one son, Donald Hopp Jr., her parents; sisters, Betty Mattice, Nancy Good, Carol Marshall; one brother, Robert "Butch" Cook; and her life-long friend, Judy "Jute" Hand.
A private service will be held by the family.
Judy's family would like to take this opportunity to thank the Creekside North and South staff of Evergreen Retirement Community and Ascension at Home Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Judy.
