Joyce M. Lovison, Appleton, age 60, died Saturday October 23, 2010 at Grand Horizons. Joyce was born in South Chicago to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Zajowski) Sypniewski. She attended Catholic schools throughout her childhood and graduated from Immaculate Conception Elementary School, Aquinas Dominican High School, Ottumwa Heights College, and Marycrest College with a B.A. in History. On April 17, 1982, Joyce married John Lovison. Joyce was a law librarian at both De Paul and Northwestern Universities. Prior to moving to Appleton in July of 1999, she was voted "Woman of the Year" at St. Gilbert Parish in Grayslake, Illinois. Joyce was a loving, caring wife and mother who enjoyed baking and needlework.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband, John; children: Matthew of Waukesha, Sarah of Chicago, Elizabeth of Stevens Point and Emily of La Crosse; and brothers-in-law: Terry (Toni) and Richard Lovison.
Visitation will be held Friday October 29, 2010 at ST. THOMAS MORE PARISH (1810 N. McDonald St. Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Gerald Falk will officiate.
