Joyce M.
Kolasinski
February 18, 1931 – December 24, 2021
Joyce M. Kolasinski, Menasha, age 90, died Friday, December 24, 2021 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. She was born in Neenah on February 18, 1931 to the late Joseph and Marie (Budweiser) Sokel. Joyce married David Kolasinski at St. Mary Church on August 26, 1950. He preceded her in death on December 27, 1990. Joyce loved her grandchildren with all of her heart. She was a faith filled lady and church was very important to her.
Joyce is survived by her children: Patty (Tim) Bork, Menasha; Tom (Debbie) Kolasinski, Winchester; Dave (Wendy) Kolasinski, Menasha; Bill (Debbie) Kolasinski, Menasha; and Kerri (Marc) Wenske, Greenville; ten grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law: Marion, Corky, and Molly Sokel. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her in-laws, Julie Schwerin, George and Jane Kolasinski; siblings: Irene (Ralph) Montonati, Richard, Robert (Susie), Junior (Leah), John, and Hillard Sokel; and sister and brother-in-law: Lillian (Russell) Manuel and Sonny Kolasinski.
Since losing her husband, Joyce lived alone, but was rarely by herself. For 30 years, we gathered around her feisty warmth. Her house was the place to find a cup of coffee, delicious sugar cookies, chocolate malts, or popcorn with just the right amount of butter. Everyone was welcome to drop by, place a few puzzle pieces, and engage in lively conversation. Quick visits lasted a long time because her house was a peaceful place that was hard to leave. She had so many visitors that people would think her lucky; but we were the lucky ones. Joyce was the constant, the warm light that drew us close, and kept us together through all of life's seasons. She taught us how to make our own families and live good lives, even when things are at their hardest. She taught our children the worth of family and how lucky they were to have a grandmother whose love for them knew no bounds. She showed her great granddaughters how to be both tough and sweet at the same time, and she showed her muscle-bound great grandsons what true strength really looks like. Joyce was a kind and brave woman, who lived a life worthy of no regrets. Her work here is finally done, and now she gets to go home, and be with Dave once again.
