Joseph N.
Schumacher
March 15, 1949 – December 10, 2024
Joseph Nicholas Schumacher of Little Chute, loving husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with the Lord on the morning of December 10th 2024. Joe was born on March 15th, 1949 at home on the farm, the youngest of 8. He grew up and worked on the farm until beginning his work at Roloff's Manufacturing in Kaukauna where he worked for over 43 years until retirement. Joe worked hard and took great care of his family. His favorite thing to do for many many years was to attend car shows with his beloved '57 Chevy 2 door hardtop that he had fully restored to its original glory. On any given weekend, he could be found driving his family around from show to show or gathering with his car club. Fun fact...when he was younger, his constant request was to be buried in his car one day. Joe loved his family, enjoyed working out in the garage with woodworking and projects, loved to polka and dance his goofy dance and laugh. He had tons of funny sayings and used them often.
Joe will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his devoted wife, Cynthia/Cindy; children Jacquelynn/Jacci (Brett) Konkle, Erin (Casey) Robrahn, and Jason (Lyndsay) Schumacher; grandchildren Joey Young, Madison Rill, Chance Rill, Kyla Konkle, Hailey Konkle, Molly Schumacher, Braydon Schumacher, Olivia Schumacher; step-grandchildren Oakleigh Robrahn and Paisley Robrahn. Joe is also survived by his stepfather-in-law, Marvin Wagner, sisters, Delores (Ron) Sedo, Irene (Dan) Horn, and Margaret Strutz, brothers-in-law Paul (Jacki) Schaafsma and Greg Yost, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends and neighbors whom he loved and appreciated.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes Schumacher, his brothers, Ray, Robert and Donald Schumacher, his sister Evelyn Romenesko, his father-in-law, Eugene Schaafsma, mother-in-law Ingrid Wagner, brothers-in-law, Duane Romenesko and Timothy Strutz, and sister-in-law Sherry Yost.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) from 2:30 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. His funeral will follow at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lynn Martin officiating.
Our family would like to send a special heartfelt thank you to Joe Dollevoet, a neighbor who selflessly went above and beyond to support Joe and Cindy and assist in his care!
