Joseph P. Scheiber, Appleton, age 66, fought the good fight against cancer and died Saturday, February 15, 2020 at his home, surrounded by family.  He was born in Neenah on May 10, 1953 to the late Thomas and Virginia (Senecal) Scheiber. Joe graduated from Appleton West High School and Fox Valley Technical College, where he was on the Dean's List. He owned and operated Sammy's Pizza in Appleton for 18 years and, most recently, was the kitchen manager at Lake Park Pub in Menasha. Joe enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, and an annual fishing trip to Canada with his friends. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years, Rose; children:  Marjorie and Tommy Scheiber, both at home; sisters and brother:  Mary Pohlman, Virginia "Tina" Hanson, and James (Barbara) Scheiber; brother- and sisters-in-law:  Ron Neitzke, Cindy Neitzke, and Susan (Rick) Dorschner; nieces: Cortney Smith, Amanda Wagner, Jennifer Neitzke, Sarah Neitzke, Kristen Peters, Sarah Scheiber, and Rebecca Scheiber; and nephews:  Chris Pohlman, David Nietzke, and Jack Scheiber. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Marjorie Neitzke; and brothers-in-law, Jerry and David Neitzke.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at ST. JOSEPH PARISH (404 W. Lawrence St. Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.  The Rev. James Leary, O.F.M. Cap. will officiate.  A celebration of life will follow at Lake Park Pub in Menasha.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joe's name for his family.

His family wishes to extend a special thank you to the oncology departments at ThedaCare Cancer Center and Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, and his wonderful caregivers from the hospice team. Thank you also to Dave D., Goofy, and his siblings for helping him through his cancer journey.
