John F. Truby, 75, passed away at home January 11, 2024, after a long illness. He was born March 26, 1948, to William and Dorothy (Kunz) Truby of Milwaukee.

John was a member of Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church for 30 years, and recently, due to moving, Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was married to Melody (Zimmerman) Finnegan on November 9, 1991.

John was employed as a prosecutor in the District Attorney's office in Sauk County and Outagamie County. He served for 4 years in the United States Navy.

John is survived by his wife, Melody; his twin brother Mark, and brother Rick (Pam); his nephew, Will (Beth) and Mady; his stepchildren, Traci (Mike) Winius and Shawn Finnegan (special friend Leah and children); step grandsons: Mitchell (Jamie) Busch, Mason Finnegan, and Kellen Winius; and step great grandson, Daniel Busch. He is further survived by his siblings-in-law: Nancy (Duane) Kowalke, LaNelle (Greg) Froehlich, and Todd (Mary) Zimmerman.

John is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Joyce.

Visitation for John will be held January 26, 2024, at MOUNT OLIVE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH (930 E. Florida Ave, Appleton) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joe Gawel officiating. Military Honors to immediately follow.
