John A Berholtz Jr., age 67, passed away Wednesday June 29, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born March 23, 1949 in Appleton, WI to the late John and Mary (Brehm) Berholtz. After graduation from Appleton High School West, John served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Vet. He worked at Hayes/Sonoco for 40+ years retiring in 2011. Also owned and operated John's Taxidermy for many years.
John's passion was hunting with his son. John enjoyed many things: Racing Dune Buggies and Good Ol Boy Cars in Crandon and other racetracks, building and chopping out Harley Davidson Motorcycles, taking flying lessons and obtaining his pilot's licenses and flying his Ulta Light, running a Hobby Farm for a few years and teaching his daughter how to play guitar. He had a talent for music and played several instruments. He liked getting together with his brother Tom (Herk) and buddy Mike to do some picking (playing guitar). Country and Bluegrass music were his favorites. John was just a good ol country boy.
John is survived by his daughter Michelle (Jerry) Ver Bruggen, son John (Syndi) Berholtz III and two grandsons Kody Peterson and Wyett Berholtz.
He is further survived by his sisters Christina (Karl) Kohl, Virginia (Charlie) Berholtz and Sue (Lynn) Zastrow; brothers-in-law Larry Clark and Jim Theisen; sister-in-law Sue Berholtz; and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Tom Berholtz; sisters Kathy Clark and Elaine Theisen; and his best friend Mike Eldred.
In keeping with the wishes of John there will be no funeral service.
