Joan Theresa Nico, Kaukauna, age 76, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 12, 2025.  She was born in Kaukauna on July 12, 1949, to the late Conrad and Inez (Van De Hey) Hostettler.  Joan married James Donajkoski on July 19, 2019.

Anyone that knew Joan could tell you she was the life of the party! Joan loved her family, grandkids, and many friends she met throughout the years. Music, shopping, and having a cocktail with friends were sources of joy in her life. A vegetarian for many years, Joan had a soft spot for animals and cared deeply for their welfare. She lived and spent many years in Florida and California and cherished the proximity to the beach — this was evident in her passion for painting, as her art was often reflected in oceanic themes. Our world is a little less bright without her, but we are happy she is reunited with her parents (Conrad & Inez Hostettler) and her daughter (Heather Williamson).

Joan is survived by her husband, James Donajkoski; daughter, Holly Williamson of Pompano Beach, FL; grandchildren:  Andrew and Ava; great granddaughter, Elle; nieces:  Amee Donajkoski and Emily (Tim) Smits; siblings:  Judy (Ron) Grishaber and Steve Hostettler; and former husbands:  Roger Persing and Tim Nico.  She is further survived by additional nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Williamson;  and siblings:  Debbie Hostettler and Carol (Jim) Guyes.

Visitation will be held at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) on THURSDAY , December 18, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
