Joan Elizabeth Miller of Kaukauna, passed away on March 2, 2019 in Casa Grande, AZ.
Joan was born on November 2, 1941 in Menominee, Michigan, the daughter of Albert F. Miller and MaryLouise (Mathy) Miller.
On August 13, 1960 she was united in marriage to Charles Edward Miller at St. John the Baptist Church in Menominee, MI.
Joan attended Catholic Central High School in Marinette. After raising her family, she worked for Northwestern Mutual and later I.B.E.W., retiring in 2005. She loved reading, traveling, wintering in Arizona, taking walks and cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events. Joan was a long time member of Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna, teaching religious education and later volunteering in the office. After her heart surgery in 2002, she was involved with the WomenHeart Coalition, attending national conferences and conducting local meetings to help educate women with heart disease.
Joan is survived by her husband, Charlie; three children, Sara J. (Charlie) Cohen of Kaukauna, Peter C. (Jennifer) Miller of Neenah and Susan E. (John) Sorenson of Kimberly; eight grandchildren, Katie (Alex) Aicher, Justin Lebreck, Madeline, Celia, and Jackson Miller, Ian, Noah, and Owen Sorenson; two great grandchildren, Max and Oliver Aicher; her mother, MaryLouise Miller; her sister, Anne (Scot) VandenHeuvel; and her in-laws, Rose (Herman) Homan, Donna (Dennis) Farrell and Marge (Roger) Thibodeau. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Joan was preceded in death by her son, Stephen A. Miller; her father Albert F. Miller; her sister, Mary Lynn Heinritz; and her in-laws, Joseph Miller and Cecelia (Balcerzak) Miller.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April, 27, 2019, Noon at Holy Cross Church (309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna) with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
