Joan M. Londo, Little Chute, age 80, died Monday February 27, 2012 at St. Paul Home. She was born on January 28, 1932 in Wausau to the late John and Laura (Osterbrink) Connor. Prior to her employment at Lawrence University, Joan also worked at the Moasis and St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was a sports fan that enjoyed following the Packers and NASCAR. Joan was a great cook and also loved gardening. She treasured her family and was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother.
Joan is survived by her children: Donna (Tom) Lambie, Little Chute; Pat Bartels, Little Chute; Mike (Colleen), Hartford; Mark (special friend Robin Verbruggen), Appleton; Mary Jo (Clark) McCormick, Gladstone, MI; and Debi (Don) Van Handel, Appleton; grandchildren: Keith (Shelly) Dickerson, Jason (Julie) Lambie, Jennifer and Allison Bartels, Chris (Sara), Brian (Renee), Sarah, Brandon and Tanner Londo, Jake (fiancée Stephanie) and Kayla (special friend Casey) McCormick, Chas and Tyler Van Handel; great grandchildren: Maddy and Jayden; sister Rita (Mark "Buddy") Kafka; and sister-in-law Judy Connor. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter Cathy Crawley; her children's father Henry G. Londo; and brothers Robert "Jerry" and Art (Delores) Connor.
Visitation will be held Saturday March 3, 2012 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Robert Vandenberg will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery. A memorial is being established.
Joan's family would like to thank Dr. Anthony Phillips, Dr. Editha Krueger, Dr. Michael Werner, the wonderful drivers for Runnings, Inc. and the staff at St. Paul Elder Services (especially Paul and the hospice team) who showed amazing care and compassion to all of us; and to a very special person, Dianna.
