Obituary

Jerome Anthony Thomson, Little Chute, age 86, died peacefully, Saturday October 19, 2013 at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by family. He was born in Niagara, WI on October 4, 1927 to the late Alfred and Ruth (Klausen) Thomson. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Jerry married Mary Jane Mulry on June 14, 1949. She preceded him in death on May 10, 1995. He then married Bonnie (Kortz) LeNoble on December 4, 1998. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2011. Jerry was a long time member of Sacred Heart Parish where he was chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee and an usher for 20 years. He then joined St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church where he was also an usher. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated a service station for 30 years. Jerry received a heart transplant in 1989. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, bowling and playing cards. He was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 and the Knights of Columbus Council 607.

Jerry is survived by his children: Thomas (Sanda) Savannah, GA; Mark (Ellen), Appleton; Karen Meiers, Stoughton; Colleen (Paul Alonso) Blanding, Boca Raton, FL; and Diane (Maplewood, NJ); grandchildren: Matthew, Kristy and Kevin (Kathy) Thomson, Kelly (Jim) Snyder, Karri (Rob) Fulcer, Kenneth Thomson, Emily Sandel, Nina Meiers, Lindsay (Phillip) Day, Curtis Blanding and Jared Loadholt; great grandchildren: Mason and Addison Thomson; Caydence, Tyler and Brody Snyder and Hailey Fulcer; and brother Carl (Mary Pat) Thomson. He is also survived by Bonnie's children: Todd (Robin) and Mike LeNoble and Jean (Steve) Lenz; her grandchildren: Matt, Marty, Morgan, Trask and Riker, Robin (Aaron) Zillmer and Jennifer (Lenz); her great-grandchildren: Erika, Jamyson, Mia and Cambria; brothers and sisters-in-law: Darlene (Smick) Thomson, Victor Peterson, Clifford Fischer, James Boyle, Alice (Bob) Brandl, Richard (Priscilla), James (Karen), Donald (Betty) and Dan (Laura) Mulry, Dick Deeg, Jack Weber, Barb (Tom) Braun, Mary (Richard) Heindl, Glen, Leroy and Gary (Lois) Kortz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his wives Mary Jane and Bonnie; Mary Jane's parents Basil and Vera Mulry; siblings: Gregory and Roy Thomson, Avita (Willard) Kramer, Patricia Fischer, Louise Peterson and Mary Ellen Boyle; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jack and Rosemary (Butch) Mulry, Leone Weber, Karen Hammen, Barbara Deeg, and Rosalie Thomson.

Visitation will be held Tuesday October 22, 2013 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) from 5:00 p.m. until the time of Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday October 23, 2013 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) from 10:00a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Military rites conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 will immediately follow. A special acknowledgement goes to the family of Bea and Floyd Olson of Footville, whom with their generous gift of life, Jerry enjoyed an additional 24 years.
