Obituary

Jeffrey L. Smith, Forest Junction, age 61, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 7, 1954 in Dayton, OH to George and Patricia (Ault) Smith. Jeff was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1973. He married Rebecca Strobel at High Cliff State Park on September 3, 1976. She preceded him in death in 2014. He was a guitarist, singer/songwriter, and had a family band "Brok'n Arrow" with his children for 20+ years. Jeff worked as a youth director for Outer Limits Youth Center. He was also an activist and a healer.

Jeff is survived by his children: Cinnamon (Michael) Smith-Majewski, Joseph Smith and Jeremiah Smith; granddaughters: Rose Majewski and Dharma Smith; father George Smith; sisters: Donna (Randy) LaBelle and Lisa (Tim) Dawson; brothers and sisters-in-law: Tom, Frank (Sarah) and Jim (Darci) Strobel, Ruth (Gary) Pommerening and Toni (Bill) Goodall and many nieces and nephews; niece Jennifer Kolb; nephew Tommy Baer; and great niece Bethany Kolb.

Jeff was preceded by his wife, Rebecca; mother, Patricia Smith; and sister, Karen Smith-Ramsdell.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH (2220 E. College Ave. Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Martin Koeller will officiate. His family will also host an open house to celebrate Jeff's life on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at his home (N8817 Church St. Brillion) from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 p.m. A memorial is being established.
