Obituary

It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Jeffery Mark Skiba, 57, of Appleton, WI on the morning of January 20, 2016 following a courageous battle with cancer. With the comfort of his loving mother at his side, Jeffery went peacefully to be with the Lord and his father in heaven.

Jeffery was born to Reynold and Irene Skiba in Milwaukee, WI on April 1, 1958. He was a 1976 graduate of Appleton West high school before honorably serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1977. He later graduated from Fox Valley Technical Institute, which led him into an adventurous career as an over-the-road truck driver, a passion that he shared with his father and brother that allowed him to see much of the country.

Jeffery sincerely enjoyed his time with his friends and family in Wisconsin and his former residence in Wyandotte, OK. He especially loved hunting and fishing with his dear friend, Nick. He enjoyed watching old westerns, learning history, and telling stories. Among his many gifts and talents was his humor, sincerity, and willingness to help others.

His genuine kindness, gentleness, and strength serve as the heart of his legacy that lives on through those who have had the privilege of knowing him, all of whom meant a great deal to him, including his loyal companion, Cinnamon.

Jeffery is survived by his mother, Irene; and his seven loving siblings: David (Wendy) Skiba, Seymour; Sandra (Tom) Yuengling, Oak Harbor, WA; Gary (Patti) Skiba, Greenville, WI; Laurie (Greg) Law, Neenah; Dawn (Tim) Riddle, Mukilteo, WA; Karen Feavel (Scott Blaha), Manitowoc, WI; Paula Hipp (Steve Zuelzke), Appleton; Godson and nephew, Ryan Skiba; along with 21 other special nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews; and his best friend since high school, Nick Kilsdonk of Pelican Lake, WI.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his father, Reynold Skiba; Godmother Theresa Yenter; Godfather Rufin Skiba; grandparents Alois and Margaret Wisinski and Frank and Anna Skiba; along with many aunts and uncles and other loved ones.

Visitation will be held Saturday January 23, 2016 at ST. THOMAS MORE PARISH (1810 N. McDonald Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Gerald Falk will officiate. Committal will take place at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King.

In honor of his longtime love for Looney Tunes cartoons and as Jeffery would say, "That's all folks!"

Jeffery's family would like to thank Fox Valley Oncology and the ThedaCare at Home Hospice team for their care and compassion.
