Jason P. Ziemann, of Hales Corners, formerly of Appleton, age 32, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 12, 2016. He was born on July 22, 1983 in Milwaukee to Michael Ziemann and Diane (Klofta) Strick. Jason graduated from Appleton North High School in 2001. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee until he joined the Army in 2003. He served in the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment from 2003-2007 and was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Following his honorable discharge, Jason went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering at Milwaukee School of Engineering, graduating in 2013. He was employed as an Engineering Technician at the Veteran's Administration office in Milwaukee.
Jason was a compassionate and gentle spirit with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved music and was a talented violist. Jason often pursued varied interests and enjoyed learning new things. He was always excited to share his experiences with others.
Jason's pride and joy was his sweet daughter Lydia. He loved her more than anything, and cherished the time he spent with her playing and laughing.
Jason is survived by his daughter, Lydia; her mother, Tanritai Wyllie of Milwaukee; mother: Diane (Scott) Strick of Appleton; father: Michael Ziemann of Santa Rosa, NM; sister: Erica (Tyler) Sewall of Neenah; grandparents: Arlene Klofta and Kenwood and Rosemary Ziemann; and step brother, step sisters and their families. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Klofta; and uncle, Gregory Klofta.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, 2016 at ST. THOMAS MORE PARISH (1810 N. McDonald St. Appleton) beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. James Lucas will officiate. He will be buried in the Southern Wisconsin Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove.
