Obituary

Janice Jean Van Zeeland age 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 28, 2022.  Janice was born in Appleton, on December 15th, 1932, to the late Lawrence and Marcella (Klumpers) Schroeder, and loved living in Kimberly her entire life. She was a very proud graduate of Appleton West High School class of 1951.

On August 7th, 1952 she married Gerald Van Zeeland at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. Janice loved being a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She enjoyed attending school events and sporting events for grandchildren and great grandchildren. Janice loved baking cookies and making candy for friends and neighbors. You could always find her outdoors taking care of the plants and flowers in her yard. Family was very important to her. She enjoyed cooking and having family dinners together. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church Combined Locks.

Janice is survived by her two sons: Jeff (Cheri) Van Zeeland of Kaukauna, and Dan (Lynn) Van Zeeland of Appleton; five grandchildren: Jason (Micki) Van Offeren, Michelle (Charles) Martin, Betsy (Nate) Van Schyndel, Ryan (Jasmine) Van Zeeland, and Brandon (Kathleen) Van Zeeland; five great grandchildren: Gavin Bessette, Preston Van Offeren, Isaac Van Offeren, Harper, Maddy and Ayla Martin and Marcella Van Schyndel; sister Beverly Frahm; sisters-in-law:  Imelda Zelinski and Sharon (Dave) Guerden; and brothers-in-law: Arley Relien and Keith Gonyea. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Linda Van Offeren; three sisters: Shirley Mae Schroeder, Marilyn Schroeder and Sharon Gonyea; Gerald's parents: George and Josephine Van Zeeland; brothers-in-law: Victor Frahm, George Zelinski and Melvin Van Zeeland; sisters-in-law: Janice (Don) Gloudemans and Marijo Van Gomple; and niece, Tammy Geurden.

Visitation will be held September 13, 2022 at CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH (601 S. Washington Street, Combined Locks) beginning at 3:30 p.m. until time of Funeral at 5:30 p.m. with the Rev. Janice's family would like to thank her special neighbors Amy and Mark Vander Loop, Tom and Donna Vosters and Sandy Verbust and also her close friend Nancy Pierce for their friendship, care and compassion throughout the years.  The family would also like to thank the responding officers Lieutenant Slinde and Officer Gostisha from the Fox Valley Metro Police Department.
