Janice K. "Cha Cha" Hablewitz, Appleton, age 71, died Monday February 10, 2014 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. She was born in Neenah to the late Irvin and Lucille (Oettinger) Hablewitz on January 28, 1943. Janice was a Registered Nurse at Theda Clark Medical Center for 32 years, working in the high risk perinatal unit. In retirement, she worked at the Appleton Copps for a few years. Janice enjoyed travelling in her younger years and was able to visit Hawaii a couple of times. She also liked to visit Door County. Janice was an excellent cook and gardener and loved tending to her tomatoes and flowers. She cherished getting together with her "Lunch Bunch" (Rose Marie, Carol, Ron, Gary and Carol) each Friday.
Janice is survived by her siblings: Jack (Sandi) Hablewitz, Menasha; Joanne Flenz, Appleton; and Fr. James Hablewitz, Appleton; and nieces and nephews: Mark, Michael (Diane) and Matt (Tracy) Hablewitz, Chris (Sandy) and Tom (Kari) Flenz, Kari Kirsten and Theresa (Jim) Gennigen.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her sister, Judith Falkowski; brother-in-law, Emil "Fritz" Flenz; and special uncle, Harold Oettinger.
Visitation will be held Thursday February 13, 2014 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) from 2:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. Her brother, Fr. James Hablewitz will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery, Menasha. A memorial is being established.
