James J. Young, age 74, died Sunday, August 23, 2026. He was born in Neenah on August 7, 1952, to the late John and Mildred (Mason) Young. Jim married his best friend, Sandra Weiland, on July 6, 1974. Outside of working for Neenah Foundry, Jim was a huge fan of both the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. While he could never turn down a good scratch-off puzzle or an outing to Cranky Pat’s Pizza, Jim cherished his family above all. His grandchildren were his world, and each summer, he looked forward to getting together with his siblings for their annual card games. The movie Jumanji also held special memories for Jim and will always bring fond memories to those who loved him.

Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandy; his children: Dawn (Tim) Rippl, Jason (Suzie) Young, and Renee (Steven) Euclide; his grandchildren: Kaylie, Veronica, Jacob, Abby, Ethan, Jasmine, and Faith; and one great grandson, Simon. Jim is further survived by his brother, William Young; his parents-in-law, Roger and Helen Weiland; and his siblings-in-law: Dan (Betty), Rich (Sharon), Barb (Jerry), Bob (Diane), John (Lynn), Mary (Jenna), Dave (Heather), and Teri (Jacinda); along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his siblings: Donald, Ellen (Quinn), and Roger (Julie).

Visitation for Jim will be held at O’CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) on Friday, August 28, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 10:45 a.m. Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

Jim will be dearly missed, but his family finds comfort in knowing there is probably already a card game underway, the music is turned up, and somewhere, Jim has found a reason for his Pants to Get Up and Dance.
