Obituary

James John Hess, 77, of Brillion, currently of Little Chute, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 in Decatur, IL. Jim was born November 9, 1934 to the late Raymond and Rose (Pirkov) Hess in New Holstein, where he was raised. He attended Holy Rosary Elementary School and New Holstein High School. Jim served his country for 7 years in the United States Air Force. He married Judi L. Lintereur on August 6, 1971 in Green Bay. Jim worked for 23 years at Ariens Company in Brillion. He was a past Sergeant of Arms, Vice Commander and Commander of the Bloedorn-Becker Jenson American Legion Post126 in Brillion and a current member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 in Little Chute.

Jim was a most loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a man of many talents who would help anyone who might be in need. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, wood working, building model airplanes and, most of all, time with his family. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all, but will live in our hearts forever.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judi; children: Michael (Kris) Hess, Fredonia; Stephen (Nicole), Wrightstown; Sheree (Larry) Johansen, Appleton; and Anthony (Kelli), Greenville; grandchildren: Brad, Dana, Sam, Max, Olivia, Elliot, Sean and Ryan; siblings: Richard (Mary), Lilly (John) Eckert, Frank, Tom (Joanie), Mary(Jesse) Edwards, Anne (Bill) Anderson and Jerry (Cadie); mother-in-law: Elaine Lintereur; and sisters and brother-in-law: Nancy and Diane Hess, Ronald Lintereur and Elizabeth (Peter) Becker. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter Robyn; brothers Robert and John; and father-in-law Leo Lintereur.

Visitation will be held Tuesday June 26, 2012 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 12:00 noon. The Rev. John Eckert (Jim's great nephew) will officiate. Military rites conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 will immediately follow.
