James W.
Flading, Jr.
October 4, 1949 – January 2, 2021
James Flading, Jr.
Jim passed into everlasting life on January 2, 2021, now he can have an understanding of God's great mysteries of the universe.
Jim was born to James and Gilda (Solomon) Flading in Wheeling, West Virginia on October 4, 1949, one of seven children. He graduated from the West Virginia University System in 1971 and immediately started his work career with Industrial Nucleonic. Subsequently the high tech company became known as Accurayand was eventually acquired by Combustion Engineering and then by ABB Inc. Jim enjoyed working with some wonderful people retiring in 2015 after 43 years. Jim was fond of saying that as a result of working for the company he traveled to places in the world he never dreamed he could have been able to see. His most memorable experience was being able to take Judy to New Zealand on one of his many work trips.
Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years, Judith Flading of Appleton whom they shared a blessed life together. He is survived by his children of who he was very proud, Brian Flading (Kelly) of San Antonio Texas, Kevin Flading ( Danielle) of Westerville Ohio, Chris Eastwood (Carin) of Gainesville Florida, and Courtney Eastwood of Appleton along her fiancé Brad Elliott Spokane, Washington. In addition he is survived by his grandchildren: Evan, Austin, Hunter, Myles and Eisley, Emma and Evie Elliott. Jim is also survived by his brothers, Richard (Jodi) Flading and Ronald Flading; and sisters, Denise (Mark) Ulchey and Joyceann Flading, all in West Virginia and Rosemary (Gerald) Pavelka of Lake Mary, Florida; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Linda Becker (Alan), Ann Grimes (Mike), Mary Abbey (Dave), Dennis Herzfeldt, David Herzfeldt (Dawn), Lisa Herzfeldt (fiancé Randy Lefeber); mother-in-law, Mary Immel; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, aunts and uncles, along with his very good friends, Josh and Becky Salzman and their children Skylar, Collin and Evan who brought him much joy.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father; and an infant brother, David.
Jim has requested his remains be cremated and that there be only a celebration of his life to be held at a later date. Though Jim had a strong faith in God's love there will be no formal funeral service just the gathering of joy for all of life. Any memorials should be directed to the charity of your choice that helps those still alive who are in need.
The family would like to thank Renaissance Assisted Living, Appleton, WI, along with all of his doctors who provided support and encouragement in these months
