James F. Clawson, Jr., Kaukauna, age 91, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital with loving family at his side. He was born in Hamilton, OH on August 11, 1924 to the late James F. and Gertrude (Bobenmyer) Clawson. James was a World War II Coast Guard veteran, serving on the USS Glendale PF-36 and USS Milledgeville PF-94. He was a Lifetime Charter Member of the National World War II Memorial and an EAA volunteer for many years.

James attended Ohio State University and graduated from Miami University (Ohio) with a B.S. Degree in Business. His business career was devoted to the paper industry, having served from sales engineer to president of several paper machinery sales organizations. He retired in 1982 as Senior Vice President of the Williams-Gray Company.

James is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; children: Jill Golden of South Carolina; Jim (Kara) of Colorado; Mike of Michigan; and Mark of Illinois; Ellen's children: Kathy (Steve) Van Rooy of Appleton and Konny (Randy) Van Oss of Kaukauna; and grandchildren: Makena Clawson and Kyle Anderson.

Military rites were held at O'Connell Funeral Home, conducted by the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 and members of the State Military Honors Program. A celebration of James' life will be held at a later date.

When we miss you we won't have to look far. We'll look in our hearts, because that's where you are.
