Henry C. "Hank" Brehmer, Kaukauna, age 82, died Saturday January 26, 2013 at his home. He was born in Milwaukee on April 27, 1930 to the late Carl and Mildred (VanDenBusch) Brehmer. Hank married Geraldine Selle on July 16, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 and Abrams American Legion Post 0523. Hank worked in the Recovery Department at Thilmany Papers, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed hunting and making maple syrup at the Sugar Shack with his friends.
Hank is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine; children: Gail (Dave) Fischer of Appleton; and Scott (Tina) of Auburn, CA; grandchildren: Craig, Meghan and Brandon, Ryan, Jessika and Matthew; brothers and sisters: Kenneth (Ruth), Ann (Roger) Schmitt, Joyce Hopfensperger, Carol (Marv) Smits, Vi (Bill) Vincent and Dave (Rose); and brothers and sisters-in-law: Betty Brehmer, Mariann (Ron) Budweiser, Judy McElderry, Marsha (Robert) Worlock and Judy Selle. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by his son Bob; siblings Wesley, Viola and Roger; and brothers-in-law: Don Hopfensperger, Arland and Charles Selle.
Visitation will be held Saturday February 2, 2013 at TRINITY EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH (804 Grignon St. Kaukauna) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until funeral at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Tim Wilkens will officiate. Military rites conducted by the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 will immediately. A memorial is being established.
Hank's family would like to thank the Oncology staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Drs. Cherkasky and Lenz, and Jen and Cass of Affinity Visiting Nurses for the compassionate care given to him.
