Harvey J. Huss Sr., Kaukauna, age 77, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Appleton surrounded by his wife and children. He was born in Kaukauna on May 3, 1940 to the late Lester and Ellen (Arnoldussen) Huss. He married Elaine Taylor on July 30 ^th , 1960 at Saint Bernard Catholic Church, Rockland, Maine. Harvey was a Coast Guard veteran and worked at Thilmany until his retirement in 2002. He was an active member of Holy Cross Parish in Kaukauna and became the sexton of the parish cemetery from 1972 until his retirement in 2015. Harvey enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Harvey spent many hours puttering in his workshop, leather working, and gardening. He also enjoyed exploring local history. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, ice fishing, sturgeon fishing and spending time at his cabin in Athelstane.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elaine; children: Charles (Connie Otto) of Darboy; Harvey Jr. (Jill) of Kaukauna; Sally (Ken) Regel of Milton, PA; Cynthia (Robert) McDonough of Appleton; and Steven (Ami) of Appleton; grandchildren: Ann (John) Kasson, Colleen (Dan) Sloane, Kevin (Calicia) Huss, Jessica (Anton) Gohl, Nicolas and Joshua Huss, Nathon Regel, Richard (Amanda) and John (Chelsea) Regel, Travis (Ashley), Ryan and Melissa McDonough, Holly (Nicholas) Vanden Bloomer, Corey, Samantha and Izabelle Huss; great grandchildren: Adam and Luke Kasson, Hunter, Amelia and Breigh Sloane, Keegan and Carley Huss, Josalyn Klapper, Ryle Gohl, Nicolas Sodmont, Ryan Johnson, Aria Regel, Brooke and Lily McDonough, Theodore and Robert Vanden Bloomer, MaKenzy Huss and Kenneth Lyons; mother-in-law Gleana McDonald; brother James (Barbara) Huss; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Magdalena Huss, Roy (Wendy) Taylor and Patsy (Ken) Wentworth. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his siblings: Alvina (Eugene) De Bruin, Clifford (Ruth, Elaine) and Archie Huss.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 12, 2018 at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna) beginning at 12:00 Noon until time of Mass at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. John Mullarkey will officiate. Committal will immediately follow where Military Honors, conducted by the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 and American Legion Post 41, will be held.
