Obituary

Harriet Blajeski, 76, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side on April 8, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with lymphoma. The good Lord saw that she was getting tired, put His arms around her and took her home. Harriet was born on August 6, 1933 to Joseph and Petronella "Nellie" Van Den Bogart. On September 9, 1957 she was united in marriage to John "Jack" Blajeski at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1999 after 42 years of marriage. Harriet was employed at Piggly Wiggly in Kaukauna for 32 years and then at Copp's for 16 years, where she made many special friends. She enjoyed her two grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Harriet also enjoyed crocheting, bowling and playing cards with her five special friends – Lois, Dianne, Deb, Sue and Mary.
Harriet is survived by her daughter Cheryl Kuehl and her two grandchildren, Cheri and Jonathan. She is also survived by brothers Peter (Geri) and Richard Van Den Bogart; sisters-in-law Shirlyne Van Den Bogart and JoAnne Van Den Bogart (Gasser), Lee Blajeski and Delores Blajeski; brothers-in-law Tom (Carol) Blajeski, Clifford Hansen and LeRoy Heimerl; as well as many special nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack; granddaughter Krystal; sisters Marie Hansen, Minnie Heimerl, and Theresa (Jerry) Lyman; brothers John, Joseph and William Van Den Bogart; brothers-in-law Randall and William Blajeski; and sister-in-law Blanche (Edward) Jirikowic.
Visitation will be held Monday April 26, 2010 beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH – ST. ALOYSIUS SITE (1401 Main Ave. Kaukauna) with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be set up for Special Olympics of Kaukauna, Boy Scout Troop 104 and Faith Formations.
Harriet's family wishes to thank the following for all their support during Mom's illness: Martha Siekman Cancer Center, Theda Care Hospice, Cherry Meadows, Dr. Al Cherkasky, Dr. Andrea Schimke, Aurora Clinic, Pat Kramer, Lois Ver Voort, Barb Hintz, Mary Ellen Williamson, Sandy Wickesberg and Dan and LouAnn Rietveld.
