Harold Joseph Deprez, 101, Appleton, passed away on January 12, 2017 the son of the late Eli and Flora (DeCelle) Deprez, was born November 24, 1915, in Appleton. He married Audrey McCabe on June 12, 1948, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Appleton. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Harold worked for the Post Crescent in display advertising for 34 years. He was a life member of the Elks 337, belonged to the American Legion #38, volunteered at the St. Joseph Food Program for 27 years, and was a life member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
During WWII, Harold served with the 13 th Air Depot Group for four years. He was stationed at New Caledonia, New Guinea, Biak, and Layte. He returned from the Phillipines in January 1946.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey, of 68 years, two daughters, and a son. They are Lucette Pushart (Edwin) Rice, Jeffrey (Susan) Deprez, and Nicole (Patrick) Garrity. There are four grandchildren: Christopher (Jen) Pushart, Andrew (Nancy) Pushart, Eric (Julie) Pushart, and Caitlyn Garrity; and five great grandchildren: Kira, Connor, Maria, Jeffrey, and Jacob. He is also survived by brothers- and sisters-in law: Ivo Guerts, Beulah Gurnee, Vincent McCabe, Maureen and Vernon Weyers, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Flora Deprez; his sister, Irene (Karl) Knight, brothers, Elmer (Rita) Deprez, and Clifford Deprez. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Peter and Emma McCabe, as well as brothers- and sisters-in law: Florian and John Chambers, Mary Guerts, Clarence Gurnee, Patricia and Edward O'Keefe, Patricia McCabe, Eileen McCabe, and David McCabe.
Friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Appleton for visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 with a funeral mass to follow. Private entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. A memorial is being established for Saint Joseph Food Program.St. Mary Catholic Church
