Obituary

Grace A. Fiestedt, Greenville, age 81, died Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Living Tree Estates.  She was born in Little Chute on December 19, 1941 to the late Walter and Delaphine (Lom) Verhagen.  Grace married Carlton Fiestedt at St. John Nepomucene Church on May 23, 1970.  She worked at Goodwill Industries in accounting before taking on the role of business manager at St. Mary Parish in Greenville, where she worked for 25 years. While there, she also served on the Parish Council and the Board of Education.

Grace enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, knitting, fishing, playing cards, swimming, and watching the Packers and Brewers.  She cherished time spent and memories made at the family cottage on Lake Helen in Rosholt. She was affectionately and accurately known as "Amazing Grace" to family and friends. Grace went out of her way to help anyone in need, and always put others' needs above her own. She touched countless lives with her kindness and giving spirit, and had the best sense of humor and wit.

Grace is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carlton; children:  Edward of Greenville, Charles (Erika) of Black Creek, and Lynn (Charles) Chernich of Fox Crossing; grandchildren:  Eric, Owen, Karlee, Coulson, Hudson, and Della Louise; brothers:  James (Myra), Eugene (Sandy), and Douglas Verhagen; and sisters-in-law:  Bonnie Troiber, Carol Fiestedt, and Joanne Babic.  She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Mary (Romenesko) Verhagen and Peter and Anna (Hooyman) Lom; father and mother-in-law, Armond and Margaret (Boyea) Fiestedt; siblings:  Joseph (infant), June (Marcellus) Van Gompel, and Walter (Fran) Verhagen, Jr.; and sister and brothers-in-law:  Mary Van Gompel, Joseph Troiber, Jr. and Melvin Schucknecht.
