Gordon J. "Gordy" Zuleger, Little Chute, age 84, died Friday, November 9, 2018 with his family at his side. He was born in Briarton on July 11, 1934 to the late Elmer and Agusta (Drier) Zuleger. Gordy met the love of his life, Grace Plach, at the Cinderella Ballroom in Appleton and married her at Sacred Heart Parish on October 2, 1954. He worked at Tuttle Press until his retirement in 2000. Gordy also worked part-time for Baer Printing and Concrete Cutters, Inc. He took great joy in singing and playing the guitar and banjo in the family band, the Zuleger Brothers Orchestra. Gordy also loved to be outside, whether it was fishing, watching the birds and squirrels, or tending to his garden, especially his tomatoes and cucumbers. He also enjoyed woodworking.
Gordy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Grace; children: Debra Somers, Appleton; Daniel (Grace), Kimberly; Diane (Rich) Baldwin, DePere; Darlene, Concord, CA; Dean (Julie), Appleton; Dawn Fuhs (Terry Smith), Little Chute; and Dale (Lori), Shawano; grandchildren: Christine (Robert) Marcks, Michael (Charlene) Zuleger, Roxanne (Leonard) Meyer, Eric, Clarke (friend Ja), and Samantha Baldwin, Brandon (friend Kerri) and Brady Zuleger, Kari (Tom) Meyer, Linsey (friend James) Fuhs, Stephanie (friend Garrett), Danielle (friend Tanner) Zuleger; great grandchildren: Grace, Hailey, Logan, Lillian, Lauren, Lydia, Lacie, Sadie and Scarlette; brother: Earl (Marian) Zuleger; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Irene Zuleger, Rosemary Vaughan, Roger Plach and Betty (James) Wozniak.
In addition to his parents, Gordy was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle Moesch; father and mother-in-law: Joseph and Magdalene (De Coster) Plach; brothers: Lawrence (Regina) and Leonard Zuleger; and brothers-in-law: Grant Vaughan, Robert and Richard Plach.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ronald Belitz will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
