Gloria M. Alger, 84, of Crooked Lake, formerly of Kaukauna died Saturday November 12, 2011. She was born in Kaukauna on April 28, 1927 to the late Nicholas and Nell (Wydeven) Huss. Gloria married Bernard "Diz" Alger on November 22, 1947 at Holy Cross Parish. He preceded her in death May 1, 1986. Gloria retired to Crooked Lake in 1985. There, she belonged to the Firemans Auxiliary, the C&M Club and St. Mary Parish. Gloria enjoyed tending to her yard and wintered in Texas.

Gloria is survived by her special friend, Gene White of Crooked Lake; children: Susan (Robert) Vandenberg of Silver Cliff and Jill Alger of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Amy (Jim) Sebert and Mark (Jessie) Vandenberg; and great grandchildren: Sydney and Mack Sebert and Kaleb, Kyla and Brooke Vandenberg. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her sisters Germila (Victor) Gerhartz and Jean (Stanley) Lutzow.

Visitation will be held Wednesday November 16, 2011 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH – ST. MARY CHURCH (119 W. 7th St. Kaukauna) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Jerry Pastors will officiate. Committal St. Mary Cemetery.

Additionally, a memorial service will be held Thursday November 17, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Crooked Lake Community Center. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
