Gerald M.
Vanevenhoven
July 23, 1950 – September 1, 2025
Gerald "Jerry" Vanevenhoven, Kaukauna, age 75, passed away on September 1, 2025, having fought a difficult journey with brain cancer. Jerry enjoyed woodworking and built his home with his friend, Bob Schottmuller. He taught at Little Chute High School, was a safety consultant for Wausau Insurance, and later for ISI in Appleton. At each place, he made wonderful friends who he stayed in contact with. Jerry truly enjoyed spending time with his family – camping for many years and his favorite pastime, fishing with son Ryan on the Wolf River, Lake Winnebago, and up north. Jerry and Linda enjoyed traveling with friends and went south for part of winter. They especially loved visiting their sons in North Carolina and Florida. He dearly loved his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, and high school sweetheart, Linda; sons: Adam (Elizabeth) Vanevenhoven of Appleton; Alan (Bridget) Vanevenhoven of Charlotte, NC; and Ryan Vanevenhoven of Appleton; grandchildren: Victoria, Madison, Aiden, Luna Vanevenhoven, and his best buddy Drake Vanevenhoven; brother, Lee (Judy) Vanevenhoven; sister-in-law, Jan Vanevenhoven; and Linda's family: Cindy (Dave) Vander Zanden, Deb (Greg) Sprangers, Jim Janssen, Steve (Joan) Janssen, Mike (Tammy) Janssen, and Anne Reschke. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Gertrude Vanevenhoven; brother, Dennis Vanevenhoven; second parents, Merlin and Joyce Janssen; nephews: Nicholas and Michael Vander Zanden; brother-in-law, Randy Reschke; and lovely niece, Ally Reschke.
Visitation will be held September 13, 2025 at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna) from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
Linda and the boys would like to thank all of the dear family and friends that helped Jerry get to appointments, brought food, and offered their loving support and prayers.
You are at peace my love -- the boys and I will miss you every day. Get out the Sheephead deck, a nice guy is coming to heaven to play five-handed.
