Gerald T.
Fischer
November 17, 1954 – February 8, 2018
Gerald T. "Jerry" Fischer, Kaukauna, age 63, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 after a long struggle with COPD and heart issues, and recent complications from the flu. He was born in Kaukauna on November 17, 1954 to the late Raymond and Janet (Marx) Fischer. Jerry was employed for many years at Larry's Piggly Wiggly in Little Chute and Foremost Dairy in De Pere.
Jerry is survived by his loving family and will be missed by his five siblings and sister-in-law: Betty (John) Borree, Mary (Mark) Steffensen, Margie (Ken) Reinholz, Carole (Marty) Surman, Bill (Dolly) Fischer and Val Fischer; and nieces and nephews, who lovingly referred to him as "Uncle G": Mike and Jeff Borree (Godchild), Barry Kasten, Katie (Kasten) Henshue, Kenny, Kyle and Kevin Reinholz, Heather (Fischer) Leaman (Godchild), Joe Fischer, Courtney (Fischer) Peterson, Kara (Fischer) Brochtrup, Jordan Fischer, Marissa (Godchild) and Jared Surman; and 21 great nieces and nephews who Jerry loved and adored! He is further survived by two aunts: Alice Marx (Godmother) and Marlene Fischer; many special relatives and friends and his rescue dog, Harley.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie; and many special aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jerry was an avid Packers fan. He loved celebrating his and other's birthdays; treating them like National Holidays. If he knew your birthday, you could typically count on him remembering it and giving you a call when your special day arrived. Even with his recent health struggles, he could be counted on to have a smile on his face and loved to tease and joke around with everyone he encountered. A true people person, wherever Jerry went, he'd always run into someone he knew. Through the years, he had many special long-lasting friendships with cousins as well as others while working at Larry's, Foremost and bartending at the former Ryan's bar. He truly touched the hearts of many; we'd surely miss someone special to him if we attempted to mention you all by name.
