Gerald G. Albertz, Kaukauna, age 71, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026. He was born in Newberry, MI on June 24, 1955, to the late Charles and Beatrice (Keip) Albertz.

Together with his brother Chuck, Gerald traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada. He never lost his love of travel and continued later in life traveling with Lamers Bus Lines. His last trip was to Chattanooga, Tennessee to see and ride the rails.

Gerald enjoyed bicycling on old railroad right aways, especially the Elroy-Sparta State Trail. He was a member of the National Park Foundation and the Rails to Trails Conservancy. Gerald was a history buff and particularly loved steam engine history. He loved taking pictures, visiting museums, playing Yahtzee, and doing crossword puzzles.

Gerald is survived by his brother, Daniel (Debra) Albertz; nephews: Brian and Jason Albertz; niece, Crystal Nemeth; and close friends, Joe and Marge Kmetz.

In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his brother, Chuck Albertz.

Visitation will be held July 28, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church (124 W. 10th Street, Kaukauna). A luncheon will follow.

Gerald’s family would like to thank the staff at Moments Hospice, who took great care of him at Apple Creek Place in Appleton.
