Gaylord A. Van Loo, age 76, died unexpectedly Sunday, May 7, 2023. He was born in Waukesha to the late Joseph and Edith (Johnson) Van Loo on April 12, 1947. Gaylord graduated from Berlin High School on June 6, 1965, and from UW-Oshkosh in 1967, with a degree in Marketing. Early on, Gaylord was a Furrier where he sold and made fur coats. He spent the majority of his career in sales while working for a radio station and for the Bergstrom Hotels - Pioneer, Valley Inn and Paper Valley, as well as Hampton Inn in Appleton. Gaylord was also the General Manager of Comfort Suites in Appleton when it first opened. He was an avid fisherman and a founding member of GLFEA.

Gaylord is survived by his wife, Diane; his children: Angela (Ernie) Gonzalez, Brian (Michelle) Van Loo, and Michael (Amy) Miller; and his grandchildren: Isaiah and Ariana Gonzalez, Grace and Emma Van Loo, and Kailey and Ashley Miller. Gaylord is further survived by his brothers, Bill (Becky) Zimmerman and Wayne (Debbie) Zimmerman, as well as Diane's siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his father and mother, Gaylord is preceded in death by his stepdad, John Zimmerman.

Visitation for Gaylord will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023, at FOX RIVER BAPTIST CHURCH (2700 E. Henry St, Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Godfrey officiating.
