Gayle F. Wendt, Appleton, age 78, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at her daughter's home in Kaukauna. She was born in Shawano on April 27, 1937 to the late Wilbert and Delia (Fischer) Funk. Gayle was an excellent homemaker that loved to cook and bake. She also cherished time spent with family.

Gayle is survived by her children: Kathy Richley of Kaukauna; Tony (Rickard Aldrich) Wendt of Woodland Park, CO; Bob (Julie) Wendt of Kimberly; and Kyle Brooks of Appleton; grandchildren: Susan (fiancé Tony Behnke), Eric (Randa), and Andy Richley, Brandon and Madelyn Wendt, and baby Ellie on the way; great grandsons: Davyn and Sylas; brothers: Gilbert (Sally) and Bob (Emmy) Funk; and brother-in-law: Bob "Boomer" Kroll. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her children: Mary and infant John Wendt; and sister Elaine Kroll.

A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday August 26, 2015 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
