Gary Edward
Habert
October 11, 1948 – March 11, 2025
Gary E. Habert, age 76, of Kaukauna, died Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Appleton after a short series of health complications. Gary was born in Antigo on October 11, 1948, to the late Raymond and Bertha (Wild) Habert. Following his graduation from Antigo High School, Gary went on to work for American Can/Graphic Packaging, before retiring in 2012. Gary married Donna Geenen on October 7th, 1977, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown, WI. While it is hard to put an entire life into a couple words, Gary will be missed the most for his dry wit and bull-headed personality. Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking, and he always enjoyed his Jim Beam Black Bourbon. After playing football and volleyball in high school, he took his love for sports a step further, coaching youth soccer for many years, finding much fulfillment out of his involvement. Gary was a selfless man who cherished his family above all. In that spirit, his final gift is that of organ donation.
Gary is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Brad, and Stacy Habert; his granddaughters: Amanda (Max) Pakala, and Ariel Habert; and his great grandchildren: Max, Jr., Elizabeth, and Caroline Pakala. He is further survived by his siblings: Shirley (Vern) Losser, Joyce Lombardo, Ron (Shelly) Habert, Denny (Kathy) Habert, and Wayne (Cindy) Habert; his brother-in-law, Jim (Mary) Geenen; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his son, Tim Habert; and his siblings-in-law, Hilary Lombardo and Fr. Roy Geenen.
Visitation for Gary will be held Friday, March 21st, 2025, at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute), beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. His Funeral will follow at 6:00 p.m., being officiated by dear family friend, Lyn Zahorik.
