Obituary

Gary R. Gluth, Sr., age 77, of Kaukauna, died at his home late Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Gary was born in Oshkosh to the late Lester and Ethel (Rasey) Gluth on December 15, 1945. He married Kathryn Meyer on June 3, 1967, at Sacred Heart Church in Oshkosh, together raising their four children. Gary served his country in the United States Navy, and later spent his career working at Appleton Papers. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, watching the Packers, Brewers, and golf, and in his younger years, playing baseball with the American Legion League.

Gary is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathryn E.; their children: Heather (Phil) Maynard, Lakewood; Kathryn J. (fiancé Craig Gerharz), Little Chute; Kristin (fiancé Josh Rohan), Freedom; and Gary, Jr. (fiancé Lacey Quella), Little Chute; grandchildren: Ashley Weihbrecht (fiancé Jory Poquette), Emily Landwehr, Natalie Maes, Lily Maes, Charlotte Gluth, and Alexa Young; and great-grandchildren: Maya Ristow and Lincoln Poquette. Gary is further survived by his sisters: Barb (Tony) Beregszazi and Bev Flanigan; his siblings-in-law: Priscilla Gluth, Maxine Miracle, Jeffrey (Michelle) Meyer, Sharon Fuhrman, and his furry companion, Oscar Meyer Gluth.

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his mother and father in-law Hugo and Kathryn J. Meyer, brother, Steve Gluth; his brother-in-law, Chuck Meyers.

The family would like to say thank you to special friends Shari and Mike Petersen, Nancy Diermeier and her late husband Jerry.

Visitation for Gary will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute), beginning at 12:00 p.m. until a Sharing of Memories at 1:30 p.m. Military Honors, conducted by Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 and American Legion Post 41, will follow at 2:00 p.m.
